Apple Fritter Cake

This delicious apple fritter cake has a very moist and somewhat dense texture that is almost pudding like and is absolutely packed with spiced apple flavor.

Ingredients

All-purpose flour
Sugar
Cinnamon
Baking powder
Salt
Apples
Beer
Butter
Icing:
Confectioners' sugar
Milk
Vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a square baking pan with parchment, letting ends extend up sides.
Whisk together the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder and salt. Add apples and beer and mix just until blended (do not overmix). Transfer to prepared pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 40-45 minutes.
Lifting with parchment, immediately remove cake from pan. Brush all sides with melted butter. Cool. Meanwhile, combine all icing ingredients. Spread or drizzle over cooled cake.
