Pear and Walnut Cake

Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C (convection oven: 160°C). Line a springform pan with baking paper. Peel the pears and cut into quarters. Cut out the core from the pear quarters.
Beat butter with sugar vanilla sugar and salt until fluffy. Gradually add the eggs and continue to beat on high speed until fluffy. Finally, mix flour with baking powder and stir into the batter. Pour the batter into the mold and smooth it out.
Spread pear halves tightly on the cake with the bulge facing up and press a little into the dough. Coarsely chop walnuts and wet in a bowl with 1 tablespoon water and sprinkle with sugar. Spread nuts on the cake. Bake for about 30 minutes. Let cool.
