Cranberry and Bacon Stuffed Apple on Red Cabbage

Instructions
Slice prepared red cabbage into fine strips.
Peel the onion and chop finely. Sauté in clarified butter in a saucepan until translucent. Add red cabbage and steam briefly. Add cloves, bay leaves, red wine, sugar and vinegar, season with salt and pepper, cover and simmer for about 45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 200 °C (top and bottom heat). Layer the red cabbage in a greased ovenproof dish.
Dice the bacon. Wash apples and cut off a lid around the stem end. Hollow out the apples, leaving a 1-2 cm thick edge.
Mix cranberries with ham cubes and fill into the apples. Put the lids back on the apples and put them on the red cabbage. Cook in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes.
